This training series is designed to support youth age 8-15 through an exploration and discovery of identity, goals, emotions and feelings, relationships and empowerment! The Y.E.S Program is a safe outlet for youth to have discussions and fun, engaging activities while gaining skills and tools for handling thoughts and emotions in an appropriate manner, exploring their identity, navigating peer pressure, and learning about healthy relationships, empowerment, goals / goal settings. The best investment that we can make is investing in our children. Let’s catch them and give them support at the stages where we can prevent risks to their health and wellbeing. Dates are 5/10, 5/17, 5/24 & 5/31 from 6pm-7:30pm. There will be a different topic each date. To get the most out of the training we courage youth to attend all workshop dates. Youth who complete all four workshops will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card! Light refreshments will be provided.

.The Super Low Tide will give us a great view of the creatures that live just off the shore. Join us for a guided beach exploration with one of the Seattle Aquariums Naturalist. Trail mix and drinks will be provided at the end of the walk. All children must be accompanied by an adult to attend this FREE, family event. Join us for a wet, educational, and fun time at the beach!

What is a 504 plan?  What’s in an IEP and when is one needed? What does a parent need to know about these plans to help their child get the best education? This class will help you with answers to these questions. This workshop will also include a question and answer time and an opportunity to network with other parents and caregivers.

Topics will include Importance of Visitation, Stakeholders in the Foster Care System & their Roles, Roles and expectations of Social Workers, Roles and expectations of Attorneys & CASA, Dos and don’ts of Court Room Etiquette, Importance of Communication and Much More!

The GPS Youth Art Show is currently underway, we will accept new art pieces anytime.

We look forward to receiving some wonderful masterpieces. Mail or bring it to us at Guided Pathways – Support for Youth & Families, 6625 S. 190th St, Suite B108, Kent, WA 98032. Our office hours are 9:00-5:00 for art drop off purposes.  Please be sure to download and complete the entry form posted here, including your young person’s name, age, and address, school and the name and phone number of a parent, grandparent or guardian, with each piece of artwork. Creations selected for each quarter’s GPS Living Room Art Exhibition will be featured in a blog and featured on our living room wall along with the creations of artist Laura Castellanos.  Four selected artist will receive a special gift.
