Representing the Regional Family Youth System Round Table (FYSPRT)
The KC3 is a forum for families, youth, and system partners to discuss the quality of local mental health services and participate in solving identified challenges to improve the system.
The KC3 is a part of the governing infrastructure of the Washington State Children’s Behavioral Health System that supports the strengthening sustainable resources by providing community-based approaches to address the individual behavioral health needs of children, youth, and families.

Mission
Our mission is to create an inclusive space for our community to be heard. In sharing stories of lived experiences, we bring forward the needs, strengths, and opportunities of the current behavioral health system. By taking the challenges and addressing them collectively, we create system change and resolution.
Vision
Together families, youth, communities, and systems will support opportunities to improve the resilience and recovery for all individuals who experience behavioral health challenges. Using an equity lens, we strive to acknowledge and address the disparities within all marginalized communities.
Highlights
To Be Announced.
Become a change agent in your community!
Youth and Family voices bring compassion, understanding, and inspiration to system change. Your voice matters and the King County Community Collaborative provides a safe space for you to be heard. Help move the behavioral health system beyond treatment to resiliency and hope! We welcome system partners, family and youth, and community members who have lived experience with mental health and/or recovery services to assist in improving the system of care.
What do Family Youth System Partner Round Tables (FYSPRTs) do?
FYSPRTs serve as an integral part of Children’s Behavioral Health Governance Structure that was adopted within the T.R. et al. v. Strange and Birch (originally Dreyfus and Porter) Settlement Agreement and informs and provides oversight for high-level policy-making, program planning, decision-making, and for the implementation of Wraparound with Intensive Services (WISe).
How do FYSPRTs work?
Through respectful partnerships, families, youth, systems, and communities collaborate, influence, and provide leadership to address challenges and barriers by promoting cohesive behavioral health services for children, youth, and families in Washington State.
FYSPRT members span across our communities!
Council Members are leaders within family-led and youth-guided organizations or programs representing or serving different constituencies and communities. Over time non-affiliated family and youth with deep experience in multiple systems and a desire to learn more about leadership and advocacy will be added to the council.
History
The concept of organizing FYSPRTs – Family Youth and System Partners Round Table – came out the principles of systems of care, which include being community based, family driven and youth guided, and culturally and linguistically competent. The first FYSPRT for King County was implemented in 2011 and convened by Sound Mental Health as the Northwest Regional FYSPRT. It served a region of multiple counties. The FYSPRT structure was later adopted as part of the T.R. et al v. Kevin Quigley and Dorothy Teeter Settlement Agreement’s Children’s Mental Health Governance Structure.
